Track Welding Machines

Gullco International Inc. is a leading manufacturer and global supplier of high-quality welding automation solutions. With operations in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, India, Australia, and China, Gullco provides clients with advanced machinery for various welding and cutting applications.

Track welders reliably perform welds on thick metal pieces with great speed, precision, and control. Several types of track welding machines are available to meet the needs of various applications, from construction to automotive manufacturing. Since these machines automate the welding process, they offer several key advantages.

Types of Track Welding Machines

Oscillation Carriage

This advanced system can increase production capabilities and produce a higher-quality weld by minimizing defects like incomplete fusion, poor penetration, overlap, and undercut.

Some key features of this system include motorized weld center line and stroke width adjustment, precise control over oscillation speeds, and the ability to store different weld programs based on frequently used processes.

Seam Tracker

Our KAT® tracker is a precise, dependable seam tracking system. It works to restore performance when material warpage, misalignment, and other conditions cause variations in the weld seam. This provides better quality control and increases efficiency in a range of welding operations.

Our KAT® tracker can easily be incorporated into the Gullco KAT® travel carriage system, as well as other traveling and rotating devices used in automated welding work.

Auto-Weld

The KAT® auto-weld allows for different automated welding cycles with repeatable performance along the given plane. Advanced controls monitor and respond to limit switches on the carriage which then respond to adjustable activators positioned precisely on the track. This system allows for greater repeatability and accuracy in stitch welding and seam welding.

Indexer Carriage

Gullco’s KAT® indexer can be used to automate single or multi-head welding operations, hard surface welding, and more. It allows for repetitive overlay-surfacing cycles to be performed with precise motion, no matter how many passes are required with the workpiece. We have models available for use with rigid or flexible track systems, depending on your needs.

Applications of Track Welding Machines

Track welding machines create quality welds on various metals to serve a multitude of applications. Top uses of track welding machines include:

  • Shipbuilding. Welding together the hull sections of ships
  • Construction. Welding steel beams, columns, and structural components on construction sites
  • Railway Car Manufacturing. Welding sections of railway cars together
  • Pipeline Construction. Welding long seams in pipelines for oil, gas, and water transportation
  • Automotive Manufacturing. Welding together car bodies and other automotive components

Benefits of Track Welding Machines

These automated welding machines move along a track to reliably perform high-quality welds, yielding these vital benefits:

  • Improved Weld Quality. Automated welding processes help ensure consistent weld quality and minimize errors.
  • Increased Productivity. Track welding machines weld much faster than manual welding methods.
  • Reduced Labor Costs. Since they’re automated, track welding machines require less labor than manual welding methods.
  • Improved Safety. Automation of the welding process helps reduce the risk of operator injury.
